1UP interview: Alan Wake Comes Out of Hiding

Posted at 16:23 GMT by Chris :: Comments: 3
1UP managed to get themselves a nice little chat with Remedy recently, and have put up an interview (in English!) with Sam Lake. It talks about much the same things as Pelaaja's but also touches on the game's development.

The idea of Alan Wake being told in a television show/DVD box set way is brought up again, and how "the experience is divided into episodes with cliffhanger endings and there is a supporting cast of characters around Wake himself." This of course inherently brings with it the possibility of sequels, something we thought about a couple of years ago. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, we still have the first game to get our hands on.

What I am worried about is - If there will be huge intervals between episodes (1-2 Years) because once this game comes out, I dont want to wait another lifetime before another gets released. unsure.gif

If they use all the same game engine and stuff like that, obviously make some improvements to it, the main things that will take time would be the story writing and stuff I'd imagine. They'd already have much of the backend parts of the game done...
I don't really know what I'm talking about but what I mean is I would expect there to be a maximum of 2 years gap between episodes, more likely 1 year IMO.

I hate those cliffhanger endings, Never liked it in movies and don't like it even more in games. You play through the whole game wanting to know what happens in the end and all you find out is you have to wait 1-2years.
